Factors Associated with BCG Scar of Pediatric Tuberculosis Patients at Pisangan and East Ciputat Community Health Centers

Tuberculosis (TB) is the most common cause of death in children. Prevention TB through Bacille Calmette–Guérin (BCG) vaccination an action to produce immunity against disease. After vaccination, a scar forms from boil, which indicates successful vaccination. This study aims determine factors associated with BCG Scar pediatric patients. A cross-sectional design was conducted at Pisangan and East Ciputat Community Health Centers January-September 2020. Data collection using medical records telephone interviews on 35 samples taken probability sampling technique, simple random sampling. With inclusion criteria for patients (0-18 years) exclusion that do not include numbers addresses. Bivariate analysis used chi-square test. The results showed significant relationship between contact history scars Age, gender, nutritional status, exclusive breastfeeding, immunization, mother's education, parent's occupation, family income, smoking were significantly related scar. Contact Parents should pay more attention protect their children people around them cut off possibility sufferers even though child has been vaccinated.
